‘Dream come true’: French football star Kylian Mbappé signs for Real Madrid
French football star Kylian Mbappé has finally signed for the Champions League winners Real Madrid, the club and the player said.
“A dream come true, so happy and proud to join the club of my dream Real Madrid,” he said in a social media post and shared his pictures with the club when he was young. One of them featured him with club’s great Cristiano Ronaldo.
Separately, the club also released a statement, saying that it reached a deal with the France star for the next five seasons.
“Nobody can understand how excited I am right now. Can’t wait to see you, Madridistas, and thanks for your unbelievable support.”
The 25-year-old World Cup winner with France joins a Madrid team that is already loaded with talent and still celebrating its latest European triumph.
Just two days ago, Madrid won a record-extending 15th European Cup title when it beat Borussia Dortmund 2-0 in the Champions League final in London.
Mbappe made his farewell appearance for PSG in Saturday’s 2-1 French Cup final win over Lyon. He was unable to add to his club-record tally of 256 goals with Ousmane Dembele and Fabian Ruiz scoring on the night.
