ATC orders medical examination of Kashmiri poet
An anti-terrorism court in Muzaffarabad ordered on Saturday a medical examination of Kashmiri poet Ahmad Farhad on the request filed on the suspicion of slow poisoning.
At the hearing, his wife requested the court to change the lawyer.
In the application, Farhad’s wife Urooj Zainab stated that senior lawyers Sardar KD Khan and Mahmood Baig should be appointed as her husband’s lawyers. The court accepted the request for a change of lawyer.
Lawyer Sardar KD Khan filed a new application in the court, stating that he met Farhad last night, but his “condition was not good.” The application alleged that his client was being given slow poison.
After the lawyer’s request, the ATC in Muzaffarabad ordered a medical examination of Farhad.
As per the court’s order, a team of doctors from the Abbas Institute of Medical Sciences would conduct the medical examination of the Kashmiri poet.
The case has been adjourned until June 3.
