Popular comedian Matt Rife has announced the postponement of several upcoming tour dates due to a medical emergency.

The 28-year-old performer, known for his self-produced comedy specials and acting roles, was forced to cancel two sold-out shows in Bloomington, Indiana on May 29.

According to an email sent to ticket holders, Rife experienced extreme exhaustion and nearly fainted on his way to a show in Indiana. Acting on the advice of his medical team, Rife will be taking a two-week break from his “ProbleMATTic” tour to recover.

In a statement posted on social media, Rife apologised to his fans, noting that he has never had to reschedule shows before despite his busy touring schedule. The comedian expressed hope for his fans’ understanding and assured that refunds would be available for those unable to attend the postponed performances.

The rescheduled dates for the affected shows in Chicago and Nashville have already been announced. Rife is expected to resume the “ProbleMATTic” tour on June 12 in Memphis, Tennessee.
