Four killed in cross-border firing in Balochistan’s Washuk

An official claims people attacked were involved in smuggling of Iranian oil

Four Pakistani nationals were killed and two others were injured in firing by Iranian forces along the border in Balochistan’s Washuk district, Dawn reported.

According to officials, the firing took place in the Judar-Bacharai border area late on Tuesday night. A senior official from the Mashkel administration accused Iranian forces of opening fire inside the Pakistani border.

The victims were reportedly sitting in the Pakistani border area when the Iranian forces opened fire on them. Dr Ashraf from the Mashkel Rural Health Centre confirmed the casualties to the media outlet.

An official posted at the border claimed that the Pakistani nationals killed and injured were involved in the smuggling of Iranian oil. One of the injured individuals, Akhtar, maintained that they were waiting for an oil consignment when the Iranian forces opened fire. He claimed that four Iranians were also killed in the attack.
