Nick Wright predicts Celtics will struggle against Mavericks in NBA finals
Sports analyst Nick Wright has not been impressed with the Boston Celtics’ run to the NBA Finals so far and he’s not holding back in his criticism.
After the Celtics swept the Indiana Pacers to advance to the finals, Wright took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to predict that the Celtics “will struggle” against their likely opponent, the Dallas Mavericks.
“By the time the Celtics adjust to playing real playoff basketball, the Mavs are gonna be up 3-1,” said Wright, who is associated with Fox Sports.
Wright’s comments seem to be a dig at the Celtics’ relatively easy path through the Eastern Conference playoffs so far.
The Celtics defeated the Miami Heat and the Cleveland Cavaliers in five games each, with both teams missing key players due to injury.
In contrast, the Mavericks have had a tougher road, going through the LA Clippers and OKC Thunder in six games each before closing in on a finals berth.

This isn’t the first time Wright has criticized the Celtics. He previously described their 64-18 regular season record as not even being one of the 3 best teams in the NBA. With the Finals matchup yet to be determined, it will be interesting to see if Wright’s prediction about the Celtics struggling against the Mavericks comes to fruition.
