An eight-year-old girl, who went missing from Quaid’s mausoleum in Karachi on August 14, 2023, has been found after 10 months.

The girl, named Serjani, was living with an alleged kidnapper couple in the city’s Sohrab Goth area.

Her plight came to the attention of the neighbours, who spotted her video circulating on social media and informed her actual parents. The girl’s mother claimed that the police did not cooperate with them in the search, but have now arrested the alleged kidnapper couple, Samir and Seema.

Central SSP Zeeshan Shafiq stated that the girl went missing during a governor’s programme at mausoleum last year and was “later found with the help of social media.” The eight-year-old Ayesha had been living with the couple for the past 10 months.
