Gandapur reveals meeting with army chief

Says he highlighted province's concerns

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur has revealed that he met the Army Chief during a media briefing following his participation in the Special Investment Facilitation Council meeting in Islamabad.

Gandapur stated that he had met with the Army Chief twice and reiterated his stance of not compromising on the province’s share of resources.

He also confirmed that he had voiced his opposition to the imposition of taxes on FATA and PATA regions, urging the federal government to refrain from further taxation. He claimed that the federal government had accepted their proposal.

Regarding load shedding, the Chief Minister stated that he had informed the federal government of the province’s concerns.

He also addressed the issue of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s dues, which he termed “compulsions” rather than “theft,” emphasizing his commitment to providing relief to the people of the province. He urged the federal government to release the province’s funds immediately.

Meanwhile, Federal Minister for Information, Atta Tarar, stated that the IPCC meeting had sent a message of unity. He confirmed that Gandapur had assured full cooperation and that their discussions had been conducted in a lighter tone.

Tarar further highlighted that six desks would be established within the SIFC to address specific issues. He reported that all four Chief Ministers had welcomed this decision. He also stated that the Prime Minister had made it clear that the federal government does not require loans and its focus will be on investment.
