Indian cricketer Virat Kohli has expressed his intention to end his career without any regrets and he is hopeful about that, India Today reported.

Kohli expressed his intention to take a substantial break before deciding on his future endeavours once he hangs up his cricket boots.

A question was posed to him during the RCB’s Royal Gala Dinner, which took place in Bengaluru on May 18, just before their crucial Indian Premier League match against the Chennai Super Kings.

Kohli emphasised working on a strategic approach by working backwards to plan for his retirement.

“I don’t want to finish my career thinking, ‘oh, what if I have done this on that particular day’ because I can’t keep going on and on forever,” he said.

Kohli hinted at taking an extensive break after retiring from cricket before considering his future plans.

The cricketer has kept his retirement plans under wraps, emphasising his aspiration to conclude his career without any regrets and to give his utmost until he decides to step away from the sport.

“Once I am done, I will be gone; you won’t see me for a while (smiles). So I want to give it everything I have till the time I play, and that’s the only thing that keeps me going,” he said.

Virat Kohli is an Indian cricketer who has represented the Indian national cricket team and served as its captain. He is known for his right-handed batting and occasionally contributes as a medium-fast bowler.

In the Indian Premier League (IPL), he plays for the Royal Challengers Bangalore, while in domestic cricket, he represents Delhi.
