The spaceflight company Blue Origin, founded by Jeff Bezos, has revealed plans to send tourists on a space tour for the first time since 2022, Space reported.

The mission, named NS-25, will be launched from the West Texas site on Sunday in a live telecast.

The flight duration will be 11 minutes, and space enthusiasts will experience a view outside the Earth.

The company has made a New Shepard vehicle that is the main carrier of this journey, comprising a rocket and a capsule that are reusable. 

The rocket is designed to descend vertically and touch down on Earth after it has been launched, while the crew-carrying capsule will come back to Earth after traveling through space by utilizing a parachute.

NS-25 will take six civilians, including a 90-year-old sculptor who gained recognition in 1961 by becoming the first black astronaut candidate in United States history; however, he was not chosen for the program. 

This particular vehicle will mark the 25th lift-off of the New Shepard, but it will only be the seventh time that it carries a crew. Additionally, the New Shepard also carries out unmanned research missions.

Blue Origin took its last flight to space carrying tourists in 2022.
