Tesla has issued a notice, stating that the company plans to fire an additional 601 employees in California.

Tesla has announced its most recent layoff plan, which will impact workers at its Palo Alto and Fremont facilities in California.

The layoffs are scheduled to commence within 14 days starting on June 20, 2024, according to Tesla’s Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification (WARN), as per the Business Standard.

Last month, it was announced by Tesla that it would fire around 6,020 people in California and Texas.

The company cut jobs globally a month ago amid falling sales and intensifying price competition.

On April 15, Tesla’s CEO Elon Musk announced that the company would reduce its global workforce by more than 10%. At the end of 2023, the company had over 140,000 employees.

Tesla has implemented multiple rounds of job cuts to reduce its headcount by 20%, as per individuals familiar with the situation.

Tesla also laid off 285 employees at its facilities in Buffalo, New York.
