US reaffirms cooperation with Pak to fight IS and TTP

The agreement will include exchange of technical expertise

In a joint statement, the United States and Pakistan have expressed their determination to collaborate in fighting against banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) and ISIS.

Elizabeth Richard and Syed Haider Shah led the Counter-Terrorism Dialogue initiative.

According to the statement, Pakistan and the United States have agreed to enhance cooperation for regional and global security, as both TTP and ISIS pose significant challenges to peace.

The statement also highlighted the agreement on the exchange of technical expertise and research, as well as cooperation in border security infrastructure and training.

Furthermore, it was mentioned that the United States provided training to 300 Pakistani police officers since March 2023. Both countries also pledged to remain actively engaged in the United Nations forum.

The United States has reaffirmed its commitment to join forces with Pakistan in combating TTP and ISIS.

The statement emphasized that the partnership against terrorists will ensure peace in the region beyond the borders, serving as a bilateral model for countering the menace of terrorism.

The renewed commitment to counter terrorism is aimed at global peace and stability.
