Coal mine cave-in traps three miners in Duki
At least three coal miners became trapped inside a coal mine in Duki, Balochistan, due to a cave-in of mud in the Naseerabad area of Naseerabad Union Council.
Despite six hours having passed, rescue operations have not been able to free them.
According to Mines Inspector Sabir Shah Kakar, the incident occurred on Sunday at 2:00 PM when the miners were engaged in digging inside the coal mine.
Despite the passage of six hours, the miners remain trapped inside the mine due to the cave-in of mud.
He further stated that the trapped miners have been identified as Lal Muhammad, Hazrat Khan, and Muhammad Nabi, all hailing from Afghanistan.
A rescue operation has been initiated, and the miners are trapped approximately 617 feet below the surface.
Another coal mine adjacent to the affected one is being utilized to rescue the trapped miners through the airway. Authorities hope that the rescue operation will be completed within three hours.
