PM Shehbaz orders reconstruction of girls’ school blown up in North Waziristan
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif ordered on Friday the reconstruction of a girls’ school which was blown up in Khyber Pakhtunkwhwa’s North Waziristan district earlier this week.
In a statement, he condemned the terrorist attack and ordered authorities to “immediately” identify the alleged attackers and ensure they received “exemplary punishment”.
On May 6, a girls’ school was targeted by a bomb explosion, causing extensive damage to the privately owned school located in the Drazanda area of the North Waziristan district.
The unknown perpetrators carried out the attack using explosive materials, destroying the educational facility.
While expressing his resolve to protect the education of girls, PM Shehbaz said that the government would not allow terrorists to succeed in their nefarious designs to deprive girls of their right to education.
He directed the authorities to rebuild the damaged portion of the school “at the earliest”, at government expense. The prime minister reiterated the government’s resolve to provide equal opportunities for education to all, including girls, and to empower them to play a role in the development of the country.
