US dollar declines against Pakistani rupee

Pakistani rupee witnessed a surge in value against the US dollar.

On Friday morning, the interbank market reported a decrease of 20 paise in the value of the US dollar.

The exchange rate was seen at Rs278 per US dollar.

In April 2024, there was a year-on-year increase of 27.9% in the amount of workers’ remittances, reaching a total of $2.8 billion.

Rupee remains flat against dollar

The dollar fell by 11 paise against the rupee in the interbank market on May 2.

According to the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP), workers’ remittances witnessed a growth of 3.5% to reach a cumulative total of $23.8 billion in the first 10 months of FY24.
