Saudi Arabia has evinced interest and trust in Pakistan’s economy, Commerce Minister Jam Kamal said on Monday as the country hosts a delegation from the kingdom for a two-day conference, Radio Pakistan reported.

“This has happened because of the commitment demonstrated by the government to facilitate the investors,” he said while addressing a press conference, along with Petroleum Minister Musadik Malik and Information Minister Attaullah Tarar, on the sidelines of Pakistan-Saudi Arabia investment conference in Islamabad.

Kamal said there was enthusiasm on both sides and they were discussing joint ventures and collaboration in diverse sectors.

“It is the vision of the present government to promote businesses to steer the economy in the right direction,” he said and added that the visit of the Saudi delegation was just the beginning.

A Pakistani delegation would also visit the kingdom to move forward towards the implementation phase.

The petroleum minister expressed confidence that Pakistan-Saudi Arabia collaboration would lead Pakistan’s economy towards growth which would create job opportunities for the youth.

“The government is committed to do away with red-tapism and minimise regulations to provide a conducive environment and level playing field to all the investors.”
