Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Faisal Karim Kundi has dismissed reports that the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) will join the federal cabinet.

Speaking to a private TV channel in Peshawar, Kundi said that any decision regarding the PPP’s participation in the federal government would be made by the party’s Central Executive Committee.

The governor also said that the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) is deliberately dragging the military into politics. “On the one hand, they say that the establishment is interfering in politics, while on the other hand, they say that we will only talk to the army chief and the DG ISI,” he said.

Kundi further said that he did not mind the fact that the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister or cabinet members did not attend the oath-taking ceremony.

“I can go anywhere, including the Chief Minister’s House, to resolve issues,” he said.

He added that political parties ultimately have to talk to each other, and that the PPP will hold talks with all political parties, including Maulana Fazlur Rehman.

Kundi also said that political parties with reservations about the elections can approach the relevant forum for their resolution.

The governor said that he has contacted various political figures, including Siraj ul Haq and Aftab Sherpao, to take them into confidence. He said that issues related to the federation will be resolved through understanding and dialogue.
