Motorway police sub-inspector shot to death for issuing challan
A tragic incident unfolded on the Hazara Expressway as a traffic violator opened fire after being stopped for a challan.
During the exchange of gunfire, Inspector Aamir Shahid, an officer of the Highway Police, lost his life, while Constable Naveed sustained injuries.
According to the police, the incident occurred when a vehicle coming from Peshawar was stopped for violating traffic regulations at a toll booth.
The deceased inspector and the injured personnel have been transferred to King Abdullah Hospital in Mansehra for medical treatment.
In order to apprehend the culprit, the police have cordoned off the area and launched a search operation. Additionally, several checkpoints have been set up in different locations as part of the ongoing investigation.
The incident has sent shockwaves through the community, highlighting the risks faced by law enforcement officials in carrying out their duties to maintain law and order on the roads.
Authorities have expressed their condolences to the family of Inspector Aamir Shahid and have vowed to bring the perpetrator to justice.
