Incarcerated former prime minister Imran Khan dismissed any notion of entering into a “deal” in a message released on Friday to commemorate the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s 28th Foundation Day.

On April 25, the PTI celebrated its 28th Foundation Day. In a statement posted on Khan’s social media account to mark the occasion, he expressed concern over what he described as the imposition of the “worst dictatorship” in the country.

He claimed that such “dictatorship” was leading to the deterioration of the economy, and the undermining of government rule, democracy, and the judiciary.

The PTI leader called upon every individual to play their part in halting this “decline towards the country’s destruction.”

He affirmed his commitment to the cause of genuine freedom, stating that he was prepared to make any necessary sacrifices. Khan added that he would never compromise on his own or his nation’s freedom.

While referring to his nine-month imprisonment on what he called “fake and concocted cases,” Khan said: “I am willing to remain in jail for another nine years, or even longer if needed, but I will never strike a deal with those who have enslaved my nation.”
