PTI to hold talks only with ‘those who hold power’
The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf has said that it was ready to hold talks only with those who hold power in Pakistan: establishment.
“Being ready for talks is one thing and holding talks is a different thing. Khan Sb had said he was ready for talks with the establishment because power lies with them and they exercise it,” PTI Secretary Information Rauf Hassan said in an interview with Shaukat Piracha on the Aaj News show Rubaroo aired on Tuesday.
He was speaking in response to a query related to reports of a thaw between the PTI and ruling political parties.
“All these people you see are pygmies. The prime minister and chief minister are pawns and their strings are attached somewhere else. So if you have to resolve issues or move forward, you have to talk to those who have power,” Hassan said.
According to Rauf, the past efforts to hold talks with the three top political parties failed as the other side sought relief.

He blamed the three political parties – PPP, PML-N, and MQM-P – as “dacoits”, saying the PTI has already allied with six parties.
He clarified that the party has accepted the legitimacy of Parliament only to the extent of their seats in the august house and added that talks would only held after the three parties vacate their seats.
When asked, Hassan said it was yet to see whether there was a deadlock with the ruling parties or not.
