In a recent development, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have come under fire for what critics deem as “insensitive” projects in the midst of the royal family’s crisis. The couple, who have been making headlines since stepping down as senior members of the royal family, now face scrutiny for their latest ventures.

Reports have surfaced indicating that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are involved in the development of two Netflix series. One of the shows, featuring Meghan, aims to celebrate cooking, gardening, entertaining, and friendship, while the other focuses on documenting the US Open Polo Championship.

Meghan has also launched the first product from her lifestyle brand, American Riviera Orchard, which is a strawberry jam. This product was sent to 50 influencers for a taste test. However, these endeavors have sparked criticism due to their timing and perceived lack of sensitivity.

Lizzie Cundy, a royal expert and former friend of Meghan, has been particularly vocal about her disapproval. Cundy accused Meghan of trying to reinvent herself in the image of Gwyneth Paltrow and criticized her for not reading the room. She expressed her belief that the couple’s Netflix shows and Harry’s involvement in polo playing are not relatable and are insensitive, especially considering Kate Middleton’s battle with cancer and King Charles’s ongoing health issues.

During an interview with GBN America, Cundy further stated that Harry and Meghan seem oblivious to how they are perceived and appear to be too self-focused. Cundy also urged Meghan to reflect on her own actions and criticized her for previously slamming Kate, suggesting that Meghan should apologize for the impact her words have had on the Duchess of Cambridge.

Moreover, Cundy expressed her discontent with Meghan’s lifestyle brand, stating that people across the pond are tired of her and labeled the launch of her luxury jams as “fake and phony.” She concluded by suggesting that Meghan should apologize to Kate and be more sensitive in her actions.

The timing of these projects and their perceived lack of consideration for the ongoing challenges faced by the royal family have fueled the criticism directed at Harry and Meghan. It remains to be seen how the couple will respond to the backlash and whether they will address the concerns raised by their detractors.
