How to make sure you’re not being defrauded by a govt job offer

Posts on social media need more careful verification

Government jobs in Pakistan promise stability and security and are considered attractive by a large portion of the population.

However, the lucrative a thing is, the more prone it is to become an instrument for fraud.

A similar thing happened to a woman in Karachi recently. The young man called her to Golestan Johar on the pretense of a job and tortured her.

In another incident, a girl resident of Quaidabad was called home by Fahad asking her to get a government job and allegedly raped her along with her friends. The girl had befriended the accused on social media.

People have less information about how to get a government job.

Citizens say that they apply for jobs by seeing advertisements in newspapers and social media.

People say they don’t verify ads on social media.

Remember that advertisements for government jobs are published in newspapers, no one is ever called for a meeting at home or at a private place.

Government jobs also require testing which is carried by specified organisations such as National Testing Service (NTS).

The information about the job openings is also posted on online portals where it can be verified.
