Karachi Bar Association has demanded an apology from actor Faisal Qureshi and Hum TV for a affecting the reputation of the legal fraternity through tehir portrayal in a drama.

The Bar Association issued a condemnation signed by General Secretary Ikhtiar Ali Channa and Chairman Human Rights Committee Zahid Hussain Soomro, saying everyone involved in the drama including Qureshi as well as the channel owner Sultana Siddique should apologise.

“The cabinet of the Karachi Bar Association has been informed via Hum TV about the drama ‘Zulm’ where Faisal Qureshi used inappropriate language against the legal fraternity which is deeply contemptuous,” the condemnation said.

“Considering the above, the reputaion of the legal fraternity has been tarnished,” it added.

The Association also said that it reserved the right to pursue legal action against the aforementioned parties.
