Balochistan facing flooding after heavy rainfall

Heavy rains lashed out in Balochistan over the weekend, causing flooding in several parts of the province.

The flow of water entered populated areas, resulting in the collapse of house walls and affecting 40 houses. The water also covered the railway tracks in several places.

In Quetta, there has been continuous heavy rainfall for ten hours, effecting areas including Qambrani Road and Ghausabad.

The authorities have declared emergency in these areas due to urban flooding.

According to Balochistan government spokesperson, offices and schools to be remain closed.

Balochistan Chief Minister, Sarfraz Bugti conducted an online meeting including divisional commissioners and Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) officials.

Sarfraz Bugti stated that he was concerned for people due to their complaints of inadequate drainage.

He ensured the responsibility to rescue the people from challenges, guaranteeing construction of proper drainage system.
