PTI-led opposition alliance is holding its first rally in Pashin under the Movement for the Protection of Constitution, or Tehreek-e-Tahffuz Ain. Addressing the gathering, Opposition leader Omar Ayub said that they are embarking on a jihad (struggle) for the sake of the country, a jihad for the preservation of the constitution and democracy.

On the other hand, the authorities had imposed Section 144 prior to the rally in Pashin.

The leaders of various parties, including Mahmood Khan Achakzai, the head of the Pakhtunkhwa Milli Awami Party, and Sardar Akhtar Mengal, the chief of the Balochistan National Party, are present at the rally.

In his speech, the Secretary-General of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and opposition leader, Omar Ayub, said that the Balochistan government has imposed a ban on their activities throughout the province. Party workers and flags are being targeted and suppressed.

He stated that if the PTI had been allowed to secure its mandate under Form-45, it would have formed the government in the country.

He further expressed that our leaders and workers are being unlawfully detained.

Omar Ayub said that if Balochistan progresses, Pakistan will progress.

The opposition leader demanded that the CCTV footage of the events of May 9 be released, as it will reveal the truth. He emphasized that the truth will come to light through the footage.

He said that our objective is to ensure the supremacy of the constitution and the rule of law in the country.

It should be noted that prior to the opposition’s rally, the authorities in Pashin imposed Section 144, restricting the gathering of more than five individuals in the city.

The administration had also issued a notification to enforce Section 144.

A meeting of the opposition alliance was held yesterday in Quetta, where they decided to launch a protest movement, beginning from Balochistan. They named their protest movement “Tehreek-e-Tahafuz-e-Ain” (Movement for the Protection of the Constitution).
