Will eid moon be sighted today? Here are the latest predictions
The Ruet-e-hilal committee will convene today to sight the moon for Eid-ul-Fitr. In case the moon is sighted, eid will be celebrated on April 10 otherwise eid will be celebrated on April 11.
According to the latest advisory by Pakistan Meteorological Department, clear skies are expected in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa meaning the moon will be easily visible if it born.
The PMD has already predicted good chances of the moon being sighted today.
The moon will be visible for as long as 30 minutes after sunset, meaning there could be plenty of testimonies to confirm its existence.
Authorities also believe that the moon is old enough to be sighted with the naked eye.
Gulf countries announced on Monday that the moon was not sighted. Therefore Eid in the Arab countries will fall on Wednesday, April 10.
With things trending towards an April 10 eid in Pakistan as well, it is possible that a unanimous eid might be celebrated across the Muslim world.
