Anwar Maqsood wants you to know he’s absolutely fine

Eminent writer says he loves soldiers on border of Pakistan
Nothing has happened to me, I am perfectly fine: Anwar Maqsood - Aaj News

Eminent writer Anwar Maqsood has reiterated that he was ‘absolutely fine’ and nothing happened to him, quashing rumours of getting injured after being beaten.

In a video statement, he said that he was in a restless mood for the past few days because of some news being circulated on social media. The writer lamented that he received several phone calls from his loved ones from across the world after the unverified news.

“I am absolutely fine. Whatever you are hearing is not true and it won’t happen,” he said. “My age is 84. I won’t even be able to stand if slapped,” he said and clarified that nothing had happened.

“I am fine. I have been writing for the past 66 years for you and speaking. I love my soldiers, who sacrifice their lives for us, on borders. I am not saying this under duress, but I am saying this from my heart,” he added.

Known for his writing, wit and humour, Maqsood is a big name in Pakistan’s television industry. His plays and TV shows are still being loved by people.

He still holds a mobile phone without a camera, wondering how he would make tweets. As many as 42 accounts were being run on social media under his name, the writer said and added that they all were fake.

“I told everyone, including the FIA, and police, to shut them down, but they said they cannot,” he said and vowed to write for the people and Pakistan.
