SBP announces revised working hours for banks during Ramadan

The State Bank of Pakistan on Monday announced revised working hours for all banks, development finance institutions and microfinance banks during Ramadan 2024, the central bank said in a statement.

The working hours will start from 09:00am and end at 03:30pm from Monday to Thursday with a prayer break from 2:00pm to 2:30pm.

On Fridays, office hours will be from 08.30am to 1:00pm without break, according to the central bank.

For public dealings, the banks were advised to observe working hours from 09:00am to 02:00pm without a break from Monday to Thursday and from 08:30 am to 1:00 pm without break on Fridays.

“After the month of Ramadan-ul-Mubarak, the above timings will automatically revert to pre Ramadan timings,” the SBP said.

Ruet-e-Hilal Committee Chairman Maulana Muhammad Abdul Khabir Azad has summoned a meeting to sight the Ramadan crescent today (Monday) in Peshawar.

The committee will convene for the Ramadan moon sighting of Hijri year 1445.
