Saudi Arabia has started issuing visas to pilgrims worldwide for the forthcoming annual Hajj season, Visa Guide reported.

The issuance of Hajj visas, which started on March 1, would last until April 29. This year’s Hajj season will fall between June 14 and 19.

Saudi authorities have granted licences for 1,860 buildings to accommodate pilgrims in Mecca, according to Gulf News. The licenced buildings are expected to house about 1.2 million people.

Mecca’s deputy governor, Saud bin Meshal, has extended the deadline for landlords to apply for building licences to May 8. The number of licenced buildings is anticipated to surpass 5000.
