British-American broadcaster Mehdi Hasan has announced that he would launch a new publication called Zeteo, containing video, podcasts and text journalism, more than a month after he quit the US news channel MSNBC on the live show.

“Will bring you hard-hitting interviews and unsparing analysis that you won’t find elsewhere,” he said in a video post on Facebook.

On January 8, Hasan announced that he was leaving MSNBC as he was looking for new challenges. But some media channels linked his resignation to the November cancellation of his Sunday-night series The Mehdi Hasan Show.

The new publication is called Zeteo. According to the website, it is a place “where independent and unfiltered journalism is making its comeback.”

The renowned journalist is working with Substack on the launch, with subscription prices set at $8 per month or $72 per year. There’s also a $500 per year “founding member” option that includes a signed copy of his book and exclusive Zoom calls with the host, according to The Hollywood Reporter reported.

“I’ve been busy a la Nick Fury assembling an Avengers-style team of contributors, the kind of big names from media activism and Hollywood that will blow your mind,” he said.

“And, in this era of war abroad, fascism at home, and propaganda everywhere, I hope I can count on your support,” Hasan said.
