Muslims throughout Pakistan will observe Shab-e-barat today with religious devotion and reverence.

The blessed night is observed between 14 and 15 Shaban in every lunar year.

Called the night of forgiveness, the night is regarded as major opportunity to ask for repentance of one’s sins.

It is also believed that fortunes of the coming year, or even entire lifetimes, are decided on this night.

Special prayers that will continue the entire night are expected to organised across the country’s homes and mosques.

Many will visit graveyards to offer prayers of forgiveness for their loved ones beside their final resting places.

Special prayers will also be made for the peace and prosperity of Pakistan.
