Big blow to Lahore Qalandars as Haris Rauf ruled out of PSL
One of the pacers of Lahore Qalanadars, Haris Rauf, was ruled out of the Pakistan Super League on Sunday due to injury.
“Haris Rauf is out of PSL with a shoulder dislocation,” the defending champions of the PSL said in a statement on Facebook. “Wishing our star bowler a swift recovery during his 4-6 weeks of rest.”
The development comes after suffering a dislocated shoulder during a narrow defeat against Karachi Kings on Saturday.
The announcement from the team means the pacer would be unavailable for the remainder of the Pakistan Super League.
He fell awkwardly on his shoulder in the 20th over while completing a catch to dismiss Hasan Ali. He walked off with his arm strapped and underwent scans.
Rauf bowled the most economical four overs last night, conceding 22 runs with one wicket.
“The medical panel, after consultation, concluded that he needs four to six weeks to recover, forcing him to miss the PSL season.”
Qalandars have so far not won any match and Rauf’s inclusion would further affect their bowling unit which is already playing without spinner Rashid Khan.

Rauf should be in Pakistan Test side, says ex-captain Afridi
“Haris has been a crucial asset to the team’s bowling attack, and his absence will be felt. It’s not a major injury or any broken bone, but considering him as a valuable asset for Pakistan, we didn’t want to risk his national prospects,” Sameen Rana, the team director, stated.
Shaheen Afridi, the captain of Qalandars, was saddened by the development and stated that despite his absence the team would rise to the occasion.
“It’s indeed a setback for the franchise, but he is also Pakistan’s main bowler, and with a lot of cricket coming up, a pragmatic approach was to give him maximum time to recover. Wishing him a speedy recovery, and we eagerly await his return to the field stronger than ever. Our thoughts and support are with him during this challenging time.”
