Rizwana, the young housemaid who survived brutal torture, is once again being treated in a hospital.

She was admitted to the Lahore General Hospital where a six-member board led by Dr Fareed Al Zafar is overseeing her treatment.

Zafar said that Rizwana has lost weight and will have to undergo testing once again.

However, he added that her health is improving and her MRI was completely normal.

The doctor added that Rizwana’s right harm has completely healed but a decision is yet to be taken about her left arm.

A case was filed against the wife of a civil judge in Islamabad in July last year for allegedly beating up Rizwana, a minor house help, and keeping her confined against her will.

The child’s body was found to have marks on her back and small wounds all across her body as if somebody had tried to strange her. Her ribs were also found broken.

Following the revealtions, the child had undergone treatment in Lahore but was eventually discharged.
