4.9 magnitude earthquake jolts Punjab, KP and Islamabad
No casualties or injuries were reported in the intital reports
A 4.9-magnitude earthquake jolted several parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Punjab, and Islamabad on Saturday.
KP’s Peshawar, Malakand, Charsadda, Swat, Dir, Shangla, Khyber, Lakki Marwat, and Mardan were jolted by the earthquake.
According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), the earthquake occurred at a depth of 142 kilometres with its epicentre being the Hindu Kush region.
Tremors were also felt in Mianwali Khushab and Chitral while no casualties or injuries were reported in the initial reports.
