Ali Zafar announces title of PSL 2024 anthem
Singer-cum-actor Ali Zafar has announced the title of the Pakistan Super League 2024 season 9: Khul Ke Khel.
“So this time it’s about playing and living fearlessly and so I wrote…,” he said in a post on X, formerly called Twitter, on Sunday. “Get your dancing shoes ready !”
Last week, the PSL confirmed that Zafar would be singing the anthem for the league.
This would be Rockstar crooner’s fourth song for one of the top cricket leagues in the world. Zafar sang songs for the first three editions of the tournament.
But the trend changed after another Pakistani singer Meesha Shafi accused him of harassment in 2018.
Zafar would probably be collaborating with Aima Baig who was part of the songs for two editions in 2021 and 2022.
The T20 league will start on February 17 in Lahore, with defending champions Lahore Qalandars taking on Islamabad United in the opening match.
As many as six teams would participate in the 34-match T20I tournament. Shaheen Shah Afridi, the captain of Qalandars, would be eyeing to make history by winning the title for the third time.
