Canada allows digital nomads to work on visit visa
The Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) has announced new rules for foreigners who want to work in the country under the Digital Nomad Visa Programme, VisaGuide reported on Friday.
Foreigners have been allowed entry into Canada to work remotely as digital nomads while holding a visitor visa. Additionally, they will be permitted to obtain a work permit if they are successful in finding a Canadian employer entry.
These foreigners will only need visitor status to relocate to Canada for up to six months while they work remotely either for an international employer, being self-employed, or providing services to clients outside Canada.
The IRCC stated that the digital nomad, showing interest in finding a Canadian employer, should be counseled that he will need a work permit before starting work for such an employer.
Meanwhile, digital nomads entering Canada are also exempted from holding additional documents.
