Highly-wanted terrorist killed in DI Khan: ISPR
Security forces killed a highly-wanted terrorist in an intelligence-based operation in Dera Ismail Khan on Thursday.
Inter-Services Public Relations said in a statement that the operation was conducted after reports of presence of terrorists.
“During the conduct of operation, intense fire exchange took place between own troops and terrorists as a result of which HVT Terrorist ring leader Ashraf Sheikh and Terrorist Burhan Ullah were sent to hell,” the statement said.
ISPR said that the terrorists were involved in a number of major terrorist activities and that a large cache of weapons was recovered from the dead as well.
A clearance operation is being carried out to clear the area, ISPR added.
Photos released by ISPR showed weapons labelled ‘TTP’.
The operation comes after multiple bombings struck Balochistan, leading to the death of atleast one person.
Meanwhile, the Election Commission of Pakistan has expressed concern over the recent terror incidents but said that elections would go ahead as per schedule.
