PTA, FIA conduct arrest two in raid against VOIP grey setup in Lahore
The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) and Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) conducted a joint raid against the grey trafficker at NESPAK Housing Society, Lahore, the regulatory body said in a statement on Monday.
At least two suspects were arrested during the raid while the raiding party recovered 188 Active SIMs, nine VoIP Gateways (32 ports), five Laptop and two Network Switches.
Meanwhile, the FIA initiated an investigating into the matter.
“The successful raid against the illegal setup is a part of PTA’s efforts to prevent the circumvention of the Multi-Finger Biometric Verification System (MBVS) and is made possible because of continuous monitoring, commitment and persistent efforts by PTA in curbing the menace of grey traffic thus curtailing the loss to the national exchequer,” the PTA said.
