The chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) management committee Zaka Ashraf on Friday resigned from his post after Pakistan suffered a heavy blow against New Zealand in the ongoing T20 series, according to a statement by the PCB.

He announced his decision during the fourth meeting of the PCB’s Management Committee.

Ashraf said that he had decided to tender his resignation as chairman to Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaarul Haq Kakar.

The Greenshirts have been defeated 4-0 in the five-match T20 series in New Zealand.

A day earlier, Mickey Arthur, Grant Bradburn and Andrew Puttick, who were assigned duties at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Lahore after a change in their portfolios in November 2023, resigned from their respective positions.

“All three individuals informed the Pakistan Cricket Board of their decision to leave their respective jobs by the end of January 2024,” the PCB said in a statement on Jan 18.

It is pertinent to mention that Pakistan were whitewashed by Australia in the Test series held in December 2023 and January 2024.
