These areas in Karachi will experience power outage today
The electric supplier company of Karachi has announced a power shutdown in several parts of the metropolitan in account of the maintenance of transformers.
The advisory issued by the KE stated that they would shut down the power supply in the grids of Jauhar, Baldia, and Mehmoodabad as the technical teams would work on the maintenance in the said areas.
The activity requires a shutdown from 9 am to 6 pm, during this period the supply would be opened for a brief time to check the consistency.
The prior declaration has been made to avoid curiosity regarding unannounced load shedding, they said, “comparing maintenance and technical faults to load-shedding is unfair,” reads a KE press statement.
The statement also highlights the need for maintenance to provide electricity consistently.
Meanwhile, the Jauhar grid station provides supply power to all blocks of, Gulistan-e-Jauhar, University Road, some areas of Malir, Gulshan, and surrounding areas.

The Baldia grid areas that may experience power shutdown responsible for supplying power over 45 areas, including Baldia town.
However, the Mehmoodabad grid covers Mehmoodabad A, B and C, PECHS Block 6, Umer Colony No. 2, Manzoor Colony, Liaquat Ashraf Colony 2, Karachi Administrative Society, Azam Basti, Masoom Shah, Chanesar Goth and LAC Area.
