Legendary fast bowler has slammed a social media user for claiming that cricketer-turned-politician Imran Khan visited late accused sex trafficker Jeffrey Epstein’s island while he was professionally playing cricket.

“Stop spreading lies you muppet,” he said in response to a post on X where a user claimed that Khan was also on the Epstein list and Akram allegedly shared that in a podcast.

The user named Ali Shahbaz Chaudhry, as per his profile, alleged that Akram narrated a story where Khan and youngsters were flown on “Ghislaine Maxwell’s private plane to a deserted Island (Epstein Island).”

He also shared two pictures of the PTI founder with Maxwell, who is a convicted sex trafficker and Epstein accomplice.

But nowhere in the 40 seconds clip from a podcast Akram spoke about the names the social media user took.

More than 150 names could be made public in the coming days after a judge ordered their public disclosure as part of a lawsuit linked to to Epstein, the US financier who killed himself in 2019 as he awaited trial for sex crimes.

Notably included in the unsealed documents, which include almost 1,000 pages of depositions and statements, were former US presidents Bill Clinton and Donald Trump, who have not been accused of any wrongdoing in the case.

Earlier this week, comedian Jimmy Kimmel threatened Aaron Rodgers with legal action after the American football star suggested the late night host could be on the list.

After the court’s order, Two pictures of Khan with Maxwell apparently from a party in London in 1990 resurfaced on social media. The images were taken at an event at the Savoy Hotel to mark the fall of the Berlin Wall.

The clip of the interview was taken from a podcast hosted by Sam Perry and Ian Higgins of The Grade Cricketer titled Imran Said Let’s Go To A Nightclub“ | Wasim on Cocaine, Sledging & Sir Viv.

The interview with Akram, also known as ‘King of Swing’, was uploaded on YouTube on November 22, 2022.

In the middle of the interview, Akram was asked about his circuiting with the 1992 World Cup winning captain. He was asked, “what’s it like to circuit with Imran Khan as a youngster when he’s going out like with you in King’s Cross.”

Akram narrated a tale of going to a nightclub where female fans surrounded Khan.

While speaking about 1998 Test match in Guyana, he said that Khan and former cricketer Ijaz Ahmed shared that they were going to a trip. Akram said that he also went with them.

“He [Khan] took us and one of his friends, and she – a female – took us to the airport and she had her own plane. So we sat on a private plane and about 45 minutes ride into a deserted island. There was a runway there and apparently the island was owner by her dad who was I think into a logging business.”

“So, they went into ‘chat’ into the house and me and Ijaz looked at each other. I said okay what should we do now? We can’t even go back to the hotel. We are on an island in the middle of South America.”
