Karachi’s Zahid Nihari made it to the global stage as it has been ranked among the 100 Most Legendary Restaurants in the world.

TasteAtlas, a global food review publication, ranked the Karachi famed Zahid Nihariat the 89th spot on the list of restaurants recommended for foodies to check out in 2024.

“Zahid Nihari specialises in nihari, a slow-cooked beef stew, renowned for its rich flavours and tender meat, served in a basic, no-frills environment,” the website wrote in the introduction of the eatery.

Founded in 1974, Javed Nihari has become a landmark in Karachi for traditional Pakistani cuisine. The eatery is located on Tariq Road, Karachi.

Figlmüller, situated in Austria’s Vienna topped the list for its century-long specialisation in serving the Schnitzel Wiener Art. As many as four Indian restaurants have also made it to the list.
