Against all the odds, a British student got back her lost sketchbooks with the help of a Pakistani man from a Lahore scrap shop.

A Pakistani man helped Grace Hart by purchasing the artwork from a scrape dealer in Lahore for just Rs200, reported BBC Urdu on Tuesday.**

Tajwar Munir, a fashion photographer from Lahore found himself in a quandary when he saw the sketchbooks at the scrap shop. He was surprised when the shopkeeper sold the books for less than a US dollar.

Three sketchbooks of the same artists prompted Munir to search for the story behind the sketchbook’s journey to Lahore. The three pieces were done by the same artist who signed them on the corner - Grace Hart.

His curiosity brought him to Grace Hart’s social media handles. Hart is a student of fashion studies in Britain.

“In a bid to investigate the reason behind throwing precious artwork in the garbage, I sent her a message to which she replied that she had lost it unintentionally, and she was unaware of her books’ journey to Lahore,” Munir wrote in an Instagram post.

After receiving Hart’s postal address, Munir made sure to send her sketchbooks to England.

The event created a role of Munir in Grace’s success story who lost her work when her mother Sonia randomly added her books to the stuff going to the charity shop.

Grace’s prospects were linked to finding these three sketchbooks which were part of her portfolio for university admission.

Munir’s good samaritanism allowed her to achieve her life goals.
