A transgender person was allegedly gunned down by unidentified assailants in the Faqeerabad area of Peshawar in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Tuesday, police said.

They said that the victim was on his way in the limits of Faqeerabad police station when bike-riding gunmen opened fire killing him on the spot.

Police arrived at the scene after they were informed and moved the body to hospital, they added.

The slain transgender was not carrying any identity documentation, police said, adding that an investigation was initiated in the alleged killing.
