Turkiye offers visa-free entry to six countries
Turkiye has announced its decision to exempt citizens of the United States of America, Canada, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, United Arab Emirates, and Oman from seeking a visa to visit the country.
In a report, the Saudi Gazette said that the decision was taken by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan. The free entry would be for holders of ordinary passports from the above mentioned countries.
The new visa-free regime allows citizens to visit Turkiye for tourism purposes without seeking a visa before traveling for a period of up to 90 days in six months.
Turkiye earned more than $40 billion in the first nine months of 2023 through tourism, according to the Turkish Statistical Institute.
The country hosted 44.6 million visitors from January to September, an increase of 13.2% from the same time last year.
