Former chairman of the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) Noor Alam Khan has announced to join the Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F).

“I was impressed by the political wisdom of Maulana Fazlur Rehman and decided to join the JUI-F,” he said during a press conference in Peshawar on Saturday where he was joined by JUI-F’s Senator Maulana Attaur Rehman.

Khan contested the 2008 general elections on the PPP ticket. He was a candidate of the PTI in the 2018 elections. However, he later quit the party and joined the PDM coalition.

The former PTI leader was elected as the chairman of the PAC unopposed on May 24, 2022.

His name was suggested by former defence minister Khawaja Asif and supported by Senator Talha Mehmood.
