The Islamabad High Court has declared the November 2022 result of the Medical & Dental College Admission Test (MDCAT) valid till 2024.

IHC judge Justice Miangul Hassan Aurangzeb issued the order on a petition related to the MDCAT result. The petitioner challenged the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council’s July 14, 2023 public notice.

Petitioner Laiba Rauf passed the MDCAT in November 2022 and at that time the result was valid for two years, the court said.

The notice stated that an applicant cannot get admission in 2023 on MDCAT cleared in 2022. According to the 2021 regulation, the November 2022 results were valid for two years.

The right cannot be withdrawn from the petitioner by a subsequent administrative decision, the order said and ruled that the Nov 2022 MDCAT result of the petitioner would be valid till November 2024. The court also ordered that the expenses incurred by the petitioner in the case would also be borne by the PMDC.
