The Foreign Office refused to respond to Indian media claim about the alleged death of Dawood Ibrahim, one of India’s most wanted men.

The development took place during a weekly press briefing on Thursday when FO spokesperson Mumtaz Zahra Baloch.

Earlier this week, several sections of Indian media retracted their claims about the death of Ibrahim. They published different versions on their websites, saying that Ibrahim was under treatment at a Karachi hospital after someone allegedly poisoned him and he purportedly died after being poised. But none of them came up with official confirmation.

Similar news was published by many Indian news channels on Sunday, however, they later removed them from their websites.

In the press briefing, the FO spokesperson spoke about the Palestine issue, the caretaker prime minister’s visit to offer condolences on the death of Emir of Kuwait, Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah.

She added that Pakistani High Commission in India issued 166 visas to Hindu pilgrims to visit the Katas Raj temple and for participation in annual celebration in Sindh.

While speaking about the Gaza situation, she said that Pakistan called for holding Israel accountable for its actions and the UNSC to take immediate action to impose a ceasefire.
