Accountability Judge Muhammad Bashir’s vehicle was allegedly caught up in aerial firing on Wednesday.

Police said that a man named Shayan allegedly fired into the air near Rahimabad Chowk in the jurisdiction of Police Station Airport.

Judge Bashir was returning from a hearing of the Toshakhana case in Imran Khan in Adiala Jail and his vehicle narrowly avoided the bullets. However, police confirmed that the incident did not involve targeting of any ‘important personality’ and the judge and his squad were not harmed in the incident.

According to the police statement, the suspect was travelling with his family and got into an argument after which he stepped out of the vehicle and fired into the air.

Police also said that the suspect, Shayan, is allegedly an ice addict and was intoxicated at the time of the incident.

A traffic jam ensued from the firing. However, police managed to arrest Shayan Ali.

He has now been shifted to Police Station Airport and investigations are underway.
