In the wake of solving the public transport issue in Karachi the caretaker government of Sindh has released the funds for the buses stranded in customs since completing the import process.

The attorney general issued the funds after the interference of caretaker chief minister Justice (retd) Maqbool Baqir who had given a deadline of a week to the AG regarding releasing the funds.

Alongside the directives, the interim CM said that following the transfer of funds the transport department will restrict paying the duties of buses to the customs, do clear all duties and taxes in a week so that the buses could be released.

Interim CM believes that BRTs, circular railways, and other lines of buses are the solution to public transport problems faced by the public for years.

Furthermore, the caretaker CM Baqir also vowed to talk with the Executive Committee of the National Economic Council for the approval of the BRT line corridor in Karachi.

It should be noted many of the buses imported from China including red buses and electric buses were not run on the road. However, the lack of charging stations was another issue to increase the number of buses in metropolitan cities.

Meanwhile, the orange and green lines’ track did not reach the destination of completion.
