Karachi’s Parsa Tower fire extinguished: Karachi mayor
A fire that broke out at Parsa Tower located at Karachi’s Shahrah-e-Faisal on Tuesday, was extinguished, Karachi Mayor Murtaza Wahab said.
The cooling process was going on while the rescue team was on-site to deal with any likely emergency, he added
“Fire at Parsa Tower has been extinguished by the KMC Fire team & cooling process is going on rescue 1122 team is also present on ground to deal with any emergency team,” he wrote on X.
According to rescue officials, two fire engines were deployed to extinguish the fire.
Earlier, Pakistani tech entrepreneur Jehan Ara said that a source in a tech company told her that there was a fire in the tower. She posted the message on X at around 10:15pm.
She later said that two fire engines reached the building. “Teams from the company where the fire started have been evacuated. Hope everyone will be safe.”
Earlier this month, at least five people were killed and two others injured when a fire erupted in the Arshi shopping mall of Karachi’s Ayesha Manzil engulfing several shops and residential flats.
The fire erupted in a shop located under a residential building. The blaze soon engulfed the adjacent shops, parked vehicles, and trees. It went on to spread to the residential quarters located on the upper floors.
It took the authorities around three hours to extinguish the blaze which erupted at 5:47pm.
